Pakistan Embassy in UAE Asks Govt to Allow New Visa Amnesty for Pakistanis

The Pakistan Embassy in the United Arab Emirates has asked the Ministry of Interior (MoI) to allow NADRA and immigration and passport office staff to operationalize their portals to facilitate Pakistanis wanting to avail of amnesty announced by the Dubai government.

Sources told ProPakistani that the Pakistani ambassador in UAE has written a letter to MoI about the opening of NADRA and Passport sections on August 17 in Pakistan for Dubai.

The government of the UAE has announced a two-month grace period for the violators to get their fines waived. The amnesty period will start from 01 September 2024.

The amnesty provides an opportunity for the expatriate community to get their visa status regularized in accordance with the relevant laws of the UAE.

As a result, a large number of Pakistani community members are visiting the Embassy and Consulate General of Pakistan for consular services, including NADRA, MRP, and attestation. The timely processing of their documents will help them avail themselves of the amnesty scheme announced by the UAE government.

Given the above, the Embassy and Consulate General will remain open to provide NADRA, MRP, and other consular services on coming Saturdays. The embassy has sought the support of NADRA and DG IMPASS’s support to allow their UAE staff to operationalize their portals on August 17, 2024.
