FBR Has Received 0 Rupees From 85,000 Registered Traders

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has not received a single penny from the traders registered under the Tajir Dost Scheme against a projection of Rs. 50 billion in 2024-25.

The FBR is expecting the first installment by August 15, 2024, from 85,000 traders registered under the Tajir Dost Scheme.

The representative of traders said that at present the focus of the new scheme is to maximize the registration of small traders and shopkeepers across the country.

The FBR has also started the process of issuing notices to the traders for tax payments under the enforcement drive, But the issue of tax payment could only be resolved through an awareness campaign on the national level, he said.

The FBR has assured the business community that a simple income tax return form for traders in Urdu language would be issued during the current week, he added.
