Traffic Police Deploys Over 750 Officers in Rawalpindi and Murree

Over 750 traffic police personnel will be deployed by the City Traffic Police (CTP) as part of Punjab’s comprehensive traffic management strategy to enhance traffic flow and reduce one-wheeling activities on August 13 and 14, which coincide with Independence Day.

According to a CTP spokeswoman, around 750 officers would be stationed in Rawalpindi and Murree. Seven special squads will be assigned to different Rawalpindi routes to avoid instances involving cars drifting off course and one-wheeling. Drivers who violate traffic regulations will face legal consequences.

Beenish Fatima Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) of Rawalpindi urged everyone to follow traffic safety procedures and drive more cautiously on this momentous day. She advised parents to keep a tight eye on anyone who might modify their vehicles and to avoid giving young children access to cars or motorcycles.

Speaking to the kids, the CTO emphasized the risks associated with fast driving, pointing out that it can be fatal. To lessen noise pollution and maintain a smooth flow of traffic, she also discouraged screaming and playing loud music. As a demonstration of good citizenship, the CTO also encouraged everyone to give precedence to police, ambulances, and emergency vehicles.

To provide tourists with the best possible travel experience, the CTP has set up special checkpoints and dispatched 233 officers and staff members to Murree. Murree’s district police and traffic authorities will be on duty around-the-clock, with eight sector in-charges and five DSPs/circle in-charges on duty to maintain smooth traffic flow.

Automobiles without number plates, unregistered automobiles, vehicles with non-standard number plates, and vehicles with black tinted windows will all face consequences for security reasons.

Traffic police have been directed to take severe measures against one-wheelers and underage drivers, CTO Fatima stressed. She also pleaded with parents not to let their young kids operate motorbikes or Cars.
