Pakistan gears up to face Bangladesh in a two-match Test series starting on August 21 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Bangladesh will play a Test series in Pakistan for the first time in four years.
So far, the historical head-to-head record between the two teams paints a one-sided picture considering that Pakistan and Bangladesh have clashed 13 times in Test cricket, with the hosts emerging victorious in 12 of those encounters.
Bangladesh, despite their growing stature in the cricketing world, have yet to register a win against Pakistan in the longest format of the game. The lone draw between the two sides occurred in 2015 during Pakistan’s tour of Bangladesh in Khulna Stadium.
However, this upcoming series presents a new opportunity for Bangladesh that will be led by skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto as the team is looking to break their winless streak against Pakistan.
The squad is a mix of youth and experience, with veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and seasoned wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim providing leadership and stability.
Bangladesh’s strategy will likely focus on nurturing their young talent while relying on the experience of Shakib and Mushfiqur to steer them through challenging situations.
For Pakistan, the aim will be to maintain their dominance and secure another series win with a white-wash. The Green Shirts will be without their star allrounder Aamer Jamal and premium red-ball mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed.
Head to Head Record:
| Teams | W | L | D |
| Pakistan | 12 | 0 | 1 |
| Bangladesh | 0 | 12 | 1 |
