Sindh Govt Lowers Minimum Marks for College Admissions

The Sindh government has decided to lower the minimum marks required for first-year intermediate admissions in government colleges.

Dr. Naveed, Director General of Colleges, announced that the cutoff marks will be reduced by 20 to 50 points at different colleges.

He told a private news channel that the latest admission list will be published by August 23. He added that some colleges have expanded their admission capacity and that complaint centers have been set up at six colleges to address the high number of complaints.

According to him, the centers have been established at DJ Science College, Government College for Boys Nazimabad, Government Degree Boys College Gulistan-e-Johar, Government Girls College Liaquatabad, Sir Syed College, and Khurshid Girls College.

Dr. Naveed revealed that 169,890 students applied through the portal for admissions in Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical, Commerce, Humanities, Home Economics, and Computer Science groups, with 167,309 students successfully admitted. He further stated that out of 114,000 students who applied for college admissions, over 98,000 were granted admission.
