Pakistani Hacker Acknowledged by NASA for Finding Security Flaw

Pakistani cyber security expert and ethical hacker Shehzad Ahmad has been acknowledged by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) for finding a security vulnerability in their systems.

NASA shared its appreciation with Ahmad through a letter acknowledging his efforts in recognizing the security flaw while adhering to NASA’s VPD policy and guidelines for reporting responsibly.

Here is what the letter reads:

The ability to detect and report on security vulnerabilities is a valuable skill in the information secuirty industry. Your reporting has facilitated NASA’s awareness of otherwise unknown vulnerabilities and helped us protect the integrity and availability of NASA information. Please accept this letter as a token of appreciation for your efforts.

Shehzad Ahmed is a Google-certified cybersecurity professional working as a cybersecurity engineer at IPS Pakistan, an outsourcing firm. Before this, he worked as a project manager for cyber security at Great Future Pakistan and was a bug hunter for HackerOne.

He received his education in software engineering through Abasyn University where he got his bachelor’s degree. He has previously received an appreciation letter from the government of KPK for finding security vulnerabilities in the government’s systems. He has also been granted an appreciation certificate for helping control the spread of COVID-19.
