Samsung Galaxy S24 FE Could Get a Price Hike

Industry insiders suggest that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 FE could hit shelves either by the end of this month or in October.

The new model is set to feature a modified version of the Exynos 2400 chip, running at a lower clock speed. Display specifications remain impressive, with a 6.7-inch 1080p AMOLED screen boasting a 120 Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,900 nits. The screen will be protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+.

Camera enthusiasts can expect a versatile setup, including a 50 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultrawide lens, and an 8 MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. For selfie lovers, a 10 MP front-facing camera is in the cards. Powering the device will be a 4,565 mAh battery, with charging capabilities mirroring its predecessor.

However, potential buyers should brace themselves for a price increase. A trusted source in the industry has hinted at a €100 price hike for the Galaxy S24 FE in Europe compared to its predecessor’s launch price. This significant bump comes without any upgrades to memory or storage – the base model is expected to maintain 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, matching the S23 FE’s specifications.

This price increase, if confirmed, could prove challenging for consumers, especially given the lack of improvements in key areas like memory and storage capacity.

The Galaxy S24 FE is set to hit European markets with a hefty price tag of €799 for its base model. This marks a significant €100 increase from its predecessor, the S23 FE, which debuted at €699 last year.

The pricing strategy raises eyebrows when compared to the current Galaxy S24 lineup. The standard Galaxy S24 with identical RAM and storage specifications is available in Europe for approximately €600. Even more intriguing is the positioning of the S24+, currently priced under €800, offering superior specifications with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
