FUUAST Teachers Boycott Classes Over Withdrawal of Rental Allowance

The teachers of Federal Urdu University for Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) Karachi have initiated a boycott of classes in protest against the administration’s decision to withdraw the rental ceiling allowance.

The protest has impacted both the Gulshan and Abdul Haq campuses, leaving students who came for their classes with no choice but to return home. This has disrupted academic activities, with many students expressing frustration over the sudden suspension of their lessons.

The teachers argue that the withdrawal of the rental allowance has severely affected their financial stability, as many depend on this benefit to cover housing costs in a city where living expenses are high.

Despite the growing unrest among faculty members and the disruption to the academic calendar, FUUAST Vice Chancellor remains in Islamabad, with no immediate solution in sight. The absence of leadership on the ground has further fueled the discontent among the teaching staff.

Students and faculty are now awaiting a resolution to the issue, hoping the administration will take swift action to address their concerns and restore normalcy to the university’s operations.
