Here is When Oppo Reno 16 is Launching Outside China

Oppo has officially confirmed that the global launch of the Reno 16 series will take place on June 25, just a day after the company began teasing the new smartphones in collaboration with K-pop girl group BABYMONSTER.

While the teaser campaign hinted that the launch was close, Oppo had not revealed an official date until now.

The Reno 16 lineup will make its international debut in Thailand and Spain before expanding to more markets in the coming weeks.

Oppo says the new smartphones introduce its “3D Pop Planet Design,” a fresh design style inspired by cosmic elements and the idea that every person is “a vibrant little planet.” The company is also promoting new AI-powered creative features alongside the updated design.

Ling Liu, Overseas CMO of Oppo, said:

As Reno continues to evolve, we are focused on creating smartphones that combine powerful technology with individuality and creative expression. The Reno 16 Series reflects this vision through its distinctive design language and new AI-powered creative experiences. We are also excited to welcome BABYMONSTER as the new Reno ambassador as we begin the next chapter of Reno’s global journey.

Global Models Could Be Different

Although the Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro have already launched in China, the global models are expected to feature different hardware. Oppo has not yet confirmed the exact specifications for international markets, but previous launches suggest changes could include different processors, battery capacities, or camera hardware depending on the region. More details will be revealed during the June 25 launch event.

Chinese Reno 16 Series

The Chinese Reno 16 series debuted in May with significant hardware upgrades over its predecessor. The standard Reno 16 features a compact 6.32-inch 120Hz OLED display, a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Super chipset, a 6,700 mAh battery with 80W fast charging, and a triple rear camera setup led by a 200MP main sensor, accompanied by 50MP ultrawide and 50MP periscope telephoto cameras. It also includes a 50MP autofocus selfie camera.

The larger Reno 16 Pro comes with a 6.78-inch 120Hz OLED display, a MediaTek Dimensity 9500s processor, a 7,000mAh battery, 80W wired and 50W wireless charging, and the same 200MP + 50MP + 50MP rear camera system. Both Chinese models also carry IP66, IP68, and IP69 water and dust resistance ratings and ship with Android 15-based ColorOS 16.

It remains to be seen how many of these features will be retained in the global Reno 16 series when Oppo unveils the devices next week.
