Former national team captain Rashid Latif has stated that Pakistan cricket is currently in the ICU and it requires a thorough revamp in its domestic structure.

He mentioned that a technically strong strategy is needed to manage things both physically and financially, noting that there are many issues, whether on the field or off it.
Pakistan has struggled to replace the Test team players from the talent in the domestic circuit which has been the stumbling block for the Men in Green in last five years.
The national team faces a major challenge in the Test format as they are set to face a strong team like England next month. Previously, during their last tour in 2022, Pakistan was defeated 3-0 in the Test series.
On the other hand, this year, after being knocked out in the first round of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, the team suffered a humiliating 0-2 defeat in the Test series on home ground, including losing a Test match to Bangladesh for the first time.
