Special Olympics Official Praises Pakistan’s Efforts in Developing Special Athletes

Senior Director of Early Childhood and Preventive Health at Special Olympics International, Rebecca Ralston praised Pakistan’s contributions to the global sports community at a recent reception hosted by Chairperson of Special Olympics Pakistan, Ronak Lakhani.

Ralston commended Special Olympics Pakistan for its commendable efforts in training and nurturing athletes with special needs.

The event, which honored Ralston along with Pearl Ang, Senior Manager of Health for the Special Olympics Asia Pacific Region, and Pam Rolink, Manager of Youth Initiatives, was attended by notable figures such as SOP Board Member Asma Hasan, Advisor Yasmin Haider, and Media Advisor of the Pakistan Olympic Association Asif Azeem, among others. Special children and their families were also present.

Ralston shared her positive impressions after visiting various facilities in Lahore and Karachi, noting the enthusiasm of special children in sports.

She expressed optimism about the future of special games in Pakistan, highlighting the leadership of Ronak Lakhani in promoting inclusivity.

Pearl Ang reflected on her interactions with Pakistan’s National Youth Leaders and Coaches, praising their talent and expressing delight in experiencing local culture and cuisine.

Pam Rolink echoed these sentiments, appreciating the hospitality of the Pakistani people. Lakhani expressed gratitude to the international officials for their visit, emphasizing the value of their shared experiences for Pakistan’s youth leaders and coaches.

The event concluded with the presentation of cultural gifts to the guests, symbolizing the organization’s warm ties and mutual respect.
