Arshad Nadeem Hopeful of Competing Till 2032 Olympics

Pakistan’s Olympic gold medallist, Arshad Nadeem, has announced his ambitious plan to continue competing in javelin throw events until the 2032 Olympics. Speaking at a press conference held at the Governor House in Karachi, the celebrated athlete shared his aspirations to bring further glory to Pakistan on the international stage.

Arshad Nadeem, who made history with his gold medal win at the Paris 2024 Olympics, expressed his determination to defend his title at the 2028 Olympics and, health permitting, to participate in the 2032 Games as well. He stated,

This is just the beginning of my journey. I want to defend my title in 2028, and if I stay fit, I intend to participate in the 2032 Olympics as well.

Reflecting on the overwhelming support he has received, Arshad recounted the warm reception at Lahore Airport, where he was honored by the Chief Minister and the Prime Minister, who invited him to the PM House on Independence Day. He also expressed gratitude to the Governor of Sindh, Kamran Tessori, for his respectful acknowledgment. “I received more honor than my medal, for which I am truly grateful,” he said/

During his visit to Karachi, Arshad Nadeem was deeply moved by the affection shown by the people. “This love motivates all athletes to excel. Seeing the crowd yesterday made me feel like if someone handed me a javelin, I could set a world record right there,” he shared, emphasizing the motivational impact of public support.

Looking ahead, Nadeem revealed plans to meet with the Army Chief in the coming days. When asked about the performance of athletes from India and Pakistan, he expressed his satisfaction, stating, “I am glad to see athletes from both India and Pakistan showcasing their talent on the global stage.”
