Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched a ‘historic’ agriculture graduate internship program, offering 1,000 graduates a monthly stipend of Rs60,000. She distributed appointment letters to the selected graduates during a ceremony held at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad on Wednesday.
In her speech, the chief minister highlighted that 95% of the ministers in her cabinet are young. She emphasized that under her leadership, not a single job in Punjab has been awarded in violation of merit.
Maryam Nawaz also noted that no previous government had introduced a package like the Kisan Package. She announced that 50,000 farmers have received Kisan Cards, which will be activated from October 15.
Later, during a meeting with local PML-N leaders and ticket-holders at the Commissioner’s Office, she promised the development of an IT city, a safari park, and a metro bus project for Faisalabad. She also received a detailed briefing on ongoing projects related to health, education, roads, and municipal services, as well as the law and order situation in the Faisalabad division.
During the meeting, she instructed the Secretary of Communications and Works over the phone to upgrade the Faisalabad-Sheikhupura road.
