Rana Sanaullah to Fire Any Government Official Involved in Sports Federation Politics

At the opening ceremony of the National Junior Hockey Championships at the Bunda Hockey Ground in Islamabad, Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Minister Rana Sanaullah told the media that any government official caught participating in sports federation politics would be dismissed from their position.

“Any government official of Pakistan Sports Board or IPC Ministry found guilty of playing federations’ politics or siding one group or the other would be sacked.” said the minister. He further added that the government’s main purpose was to facilitate the federations and help all athletes succeed in sports.

The minister also stated that they would try and plug any loopholes wherever they may be present.  He also said the federations would be provided with all the support necessary to make a marked improvement in sports. The minister also called on major departments that previously had hockey and other sports teams to reinstate them, following the prime minister’s instructions.

Furthermore, the IPC Minister announced the establishment of a High Performance Center for Hockey in Islamabad, stating “If it is obligatory to meet the international requirements we would establish the Center in Islamabad for the bright future of the game. The PM has already announced steps to establish the Centre.”
