Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has issued new directives aimed at enhancing transparency and accountability among national sports federations.
As part of these changes, federations will now be required to submit detailed credentials of players selected for international events, ensure merit-based selection, and provide post-event evaluations when applying for No Objection Certificates (NOCs).
In a statement released on Tuesday, the DG PSB Yasir Pirzada also set a September 15 deadline for all national sports federations to submit their audited financial accounts and bank statements.
The audited reports, covering the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024, must be certified by an accredited chartered accountancy firm. Additionally, federations must provide certified bank statements from January 1, 2023, to August 31, 2024.
Failure to comply with these financial reporting requirements could lead to the suspension of future financial assistance, the PSB warned.
“These measures are essential not only for regulatory compliance but also to ensure that the allocated funds are properly utilized to support the athletes representing Pakistan,” read the statement.
A PSB official confirmed that formal notifications have been dispatched to all federations. These actions, the board explained, are part of a broader effort to promote financial transparency and foster the growth of sports in the country by ensuring resources are allocated effectively for the athletes’ development.
