Karachi Becomes The First City to Offer Smart Tickets for Public Transport

Karachi has introduced a cutting-edge smart ticketing facility for its Green Line and Orange Line mass transit services.

This innovative system allows passengers to conveniently add money to their passenger passes and purchase tickets using debit and credit cards, significantly enhancing the ease of travel.

The project was inaugurated by Dr. Soroush Hashmat Lodhi, a member of the SIDCL Board and Vice Chancellor of NED University. He emphasized the importance of this initiative in modernizing public transport in Karachi and improving the overall commuting experience for residents.

This launch marks a significant milestone as it represents the first smart ticketing facility implemented for a mass transit system at a national level in Pakistan.

The new system is expected to streamline the ticketing process, reduce queues at ticket counters, and minimize cash transactions, contributing to a more efficient and user-friendly travel experience.
