Milestone ventures, namely Fairwinds Golf & Country Club (a project of DHA City Karachi), Innovista Indus (DHA Karachi) and Malir Industrial Park (PEZDMIC) were unveiled at an elegant inaugural ceremony on 26th September 2024 at the Innovista Indus IT Hub, DHA Karachi.
The COAS, General Asim Munir graced the occasion with his presence. CM Sindh, Mr. Murad Ali Shah was also a guest of honour at the ceremony. The event was well attended by renowned business community of Karachi.
Honoring the momentous occasion, the COAS lauded the role of Karachi’s business community in country’s economic development. He said, “Work hard without any prejudices, for a brighter future of Pakistan.”
Fairwinds Golf & Country Club – A Championship Destination for Professional Golfers
The biggest highlight of the event was the groundbreaking ceremony of the Fairwinds Golf & Country Club, situated in DHA City Karachi. It is designed by the powerhouse golf course designer, Sir Nick Faldo, whose professional acumen and expertise will add to the beauty of DHA City.
The world-class golf course is a model destination that takes luxury living to new heights as the scenic peninsula will provide excellent facilities, residential comfort as well as a challenging course to hone golfing skills.
The Fairwinds Golf and Country Club will be one of the most beautiful golf courses across the globe, which will serve as a championship destination for professional golfers.
The Fairwinds is unique in its own way. It’s an ideal location for golfing due to its siting in a wind corridor and the bowl effect created by the canyon look-alike hills around the course.
Sir Nick Faldo expressed his love for the designated site of the Golf Course and said: “It’ll be one of the most challenging golf courses of the world because the ball, when lobbed, gets a spinning effect, in the valley and then it also drifts in air being in the wind corridor.” Sir Nick Faldo also said that on completion of the project in year 2027, the first PGA Championship golf competition of Pakistan would also be held at the Fairwinds, DHA City Karachi.
DHA City Karachi – A Sustainable & Smart Metropolis
The ceremony also aimed to introduce various efforts put forward by DHA City to pioneer an environmentally conscious smart city project that encapsulates a diversified and high-end living destination for its residents. It will offer sustainable resources, modern architecture and a range of civic amenities available for customer’s delight. The project balances the elements of nature with refined human infrastructures such as an ICON Mall, Auto Cross Race track, wellness resorts and a scenic golf course.
The ceremony concluded with a promising message that Karachi’s business community has a lot to offer and DHA is at the helm of making Karachi a sustainable metropolis of Pakistan.
The innovative plans include an IT Hub in DHA Karachi, a reputable and secure industrial space at a strategic location near Karachi, as well as the Fairwinds Golf & Country Club, a highly anticipated hallmark championship golf resort in Pakistan, which is all set to open in DHA City, Karachi.
