Tenacious young leg spinner Faisal Akram bagged his maiden List-A five-wicket haul in the ongoing President’s Cup One-Day tournament.
Representing PTV against Ghani Glass, Faisal Akram picked up five wickets and only giving away 24 runs in a miserly eight overs, which included two maidens as well. The spinner kicked off proceedings dismissing set batsman Hussain Talat who was on 72. He proceeded further by trapping Saad Nasim lbw, before dismissing all-rounder and recent Champions Cup-winning captain Shadab Khan for a duck.
The spinner then wrapped up the first innings by dismissing Haseeb Ur Rehman and Ubaid Shah for cheap, leaving Ghani Glass with a below-par total of 166 all out.
PTV would stumble early on, with Fakhar Zaman sent back to the hut for 17 after getting out to Haseeb ur Rehman, with Shahbaz Javed taking the catch. The rest of the chase would go smoothly however, with Imam Ul Haq and Sahibzada Farhan seeing their side home calmly, posting twin scores of 69 each and chasing down the target in 26 overs
PTV now leads Group B with 26 points from 2 matches, whereas WAPDA leads Group A with 33 points from 3 matches won on the trot.
