Mark Zuckerberg Orders Custom Porsche Minivan for His Family

Mark Zuckerberg, the co-founder of Facebook, has taken his love for custom vehicles to a new level by commissioning a one-of-a-kind Porsche minivan for his wife, Priscilla Chan. When Chan expressed her desire for a minivan, Zuckerberg found a creative solution, given that Porsche does not make one. He teamed up with West Coast Customs to modify a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, transforming it into an extra-long family vehicle.

In a post on Instagram, Zuckerberg mentioned that he designed this custom “minivan” himself. One standout feature is the inclusion of electrically sliding doors, an uncommon addition to the Cayenne. While this feature isn’t entirely new in the SUV world, with Toyota Century also sporting sliding doors, it certainly adds a unique touch to the Porsche model.

Zuckerberg’s automotive collection doesn’t end there. Along with the stretched Cayenne, he ordered a matching Porsche 911 GT3 Touring, complete with a manual transmission, highlighting his preference for vehicles with three pedals, as seen in his Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing as well. Although the exact price of the custom Cayenne Turbo GT isn’t known, the standard version starts at over $200,000, suggesting this modification came with a hefty price tag.

Interestingly, Porsche has explored the idea of a minivan before. In the 1980s, the company created the Porsche B32, essentially a Volkswagen T3 van equipped with a 911 Carrera engine. In 2018, Porsche unveiled the Vision Renndienst, a futuristic electric minivan concept that featured a six-seat layout. Though it remained a scale model, this design could have inspired some aspects of Zuckerberg’s custom Cayenne.

Unlike the Vision Renndienst, which had a unique central driver’s seat flanked by two passenger seats similar to the McLaren F1, Zuckerberg’s Cayenne Turbo GT likely follows a more traditional seating arrangement. It is expected to have two seats in the front, two in the middle, and at least two in the third row.

Looking ahead, Porsche is planning to release a three-row electric SUV in 2027, which could have six or seven seats. It wouldn’t be surprising if this upcoming model eventually replaces Zuckerberg’s custom creation, offering a more refined, factory-made solution for luxury family travel.
