Pakistan Customs Stops Laptops Worth Rs. 10 Million From Smuggling

The Customs Enforcement Team successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle laptops and tablets worth over Rs 10. million under the guise of scrap material.

A customs squad led by Deputy Collector Maryam Jameela inspected a cargo shipment arriving from Dubai falsely declared as scrap. Upon detailed inspection, the team recovered 87 laptops and 18 tablets hidden within the shipment.

The seized items are valued at more than Rs. 10 million. Authorities have confiscated the laptops and tablets under the Customs Act of 1969 and have initiated further proceedings.

Speaking to the media, Customs collector Imran Sajjad Bukhari reiterated the commitment of Customs enforcement teams to curb smuggling activities. He also assured that actions against smugglers would be intensified to strengthen anti-smuggling efforts.
