The federal cabinet has approved the Hajj Policy 2025, according to sources, through a circulated summary. The new policy outlines the expected cost for next year’s official Hajj package, which will fall between PKR 1,075,000 and PKR 1,175,000.
In total, 179,000 pilgrims from Pakistan will be able to perform Hajj in 2025. The policy divides the quota equally between government and private operators, with 89,605 slots allocated to each.
An additional 1,000 slots have been reserved for hardship cases, and 300 are designated for low-income workers registered under the Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI). The long Hajj will last between 38 to 42 days, while the short Hajj will take 20 to 25 days.
The policy also mandates that children under 12 years of age will not be permitted to undertake the pilgrimage. Saudi government-approved vaccinations will be compulsory for all participants.
In addition, the “Road to Makkah” service will be available at major airports in Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi. Women without a male guardian (mahram) will also be allowed to perform Hajj, provided they meet the conditions established by the Islamic Ideology Council.
