Honor is gearing up to unveil its latest additions to the X60 series. The announcement is scheduled for Wednesday, October 16, and promises to introduce models that surpass the Honor X60i, which was released in July.
In anticipation of the launch, the company has been sharing teasers on Weibo, China’s popular social media platform, by teasing some of the standout features of these upcoming devices.
One of the most notable additions is the staggering battery capacity. Honor has named this new power source the “Honor Qinghai Lake” battery, boasting an impressive capacity of 6,600 mAh. Honor claims it will translate to a remarkable two-day battery life for the new X60 phone.
This is a major leap from the Honor X50 series, all of which already had massive batteries at 5,800 mAh with 35W charging. That being said, Honor is yet to reveal charging speeds for the upcoming X60 lineup.
It is worth mentioning that the 6,600 mAh battery may be limited to the X60 Pro. This is because the vanilla X60 appeared in a leaked photo recently which showed a 5,800 mAh cell in the phone’s specs page in the settings menu.
Honor has also revealed other specifications for the X60 Pro including satellite communication and 3,840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming for the display. This ensures a flicker-free screen.
With the official launch only a few days away, we expect to see more official teasers from Honor, which will likely reveal more specifications such as the camera system and chipset. Other products such as the Honor Tablet GT Pro may also join the announcement event.
