The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has announced a three-day closure from October 14 to 16 in preparation for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, set to take place in the capital.
A notification from the Registrar’s office confirmed that both the IHC and district courts would remain closed during the summit, with normal court activities resuming on October 17.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan also announced a similar three-day closure for the same period, aligning with the summit schedule. The temporary suspension applies to the principal seat in Islamabad, while provincial branches will remain functional.
The Cabinet Division issued an official notification regarding these closures, linking the decision directly to the international summit.
The SCO meeting is expected to foster regional cooperation, with leaders from several countries in attendance. Pakistan’s involvement in hosting this major diplomatic event highlights its growing role in regional and international affairs.
