World Test Championship: Latest Points Table After Pakistan Suffer Humiliating Defeat Against England

After a sustained period of losses upon losses, the Pakistan cricket team has finally sunk to the very bottom of the ICC World Test Championship table. With only two wins out of 8 matches, Pakistan occupy 9th place with only 16.67% percentage of points.

Over the past few months, the Pakistan cricket team has seen one of the worst runs of form in recent history. A series of underwhelming performances, including collapses in key matches, have contributed to this fall. Lack of consistency from purported star players, injuries, mismanagement on and off the field as well the revolving door that has become the position of captain all have compounded the problem.

The team’s struggles have opened up larger questions about Pakistan’s cricketing structure, particularly in terms of leadership and long-term strategy. Critics argue that despite the country possessing world-class level talent, the team has lacked the mental toughness and mindset needed to compete against the top sides. Known for their rich cricketing legacy and raw talent, Pakistan’s current position is a stark contrast to their past glory.

Questions will raised now not just of top players like Babar Azam and Shan Masood, but with the board members itself. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi will hope that this torrid period does not become his legacy.
