The Sindh Police, in partnership with the National Police Foundation (NPF), has unveiled a new welfare initiative aimed at providing affordable housing plots and interest-free electric motorcycles for its personnel, up to the rank of inspector.
This announcement was made during a gathering at the Police Headquarters in Garden South, attended by senior police officials, including Sindh Inspector General (IG) Ghulam Nabi Memon, Additional IG Karachi, and district SSPs.
Managing Director of the NPF, Irfan Zaman, highlighted the foundation’s commitment to the welfare of police officers. He revealed that the NPF would cover the down payment for the first 2,000 housing plots in the Police Housing Society, contributing Rs. 50,000 towards each plot. This initiative is designed to help officers secure homes at reduced rates.
In addition, Zaman announced that the provision of interest-free electric motorcycles on installment plans was initiated by IG Sindh. The program will benefit officers up to the rank of inspector, helping them with transportation needs.
IG Sindh expressed his vision for all police officers to eventually own homes and reiterated the support for the NPF’s efforts. He also emphasized the importance of the newly launched police health insurance scheme, which has been allocated Rs. 5 billion.
This scheme will allow police personnel from any district to access top hospitals in Karachi for medical treatment, once family records are updated through NADRA.
