New Zealand Humiliate India to a Record Low Test Total at Home

New Zealand ran through India in the first test match against India, dismissing the hosts for their third-lowest total in test cricket history.

After opting to bat on a surface which offered plenty for the bowlers, Matt Henry and William O’Rourke tore through India’s line-up reducing the hosts to 3/10 before leaving them reeling at 34 for six at the end of the first session.

India lost its remaining four wickets inside the first 30 minutes of the second session being dismissed for a total of 46 runs.

It was the first instance of India being bowled out before crossing the 50-run mark at home in their entire history.

Five of India’s batters Virat Kohli, Sarfaraz Khan, Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul, and R Ashwin were dismissed for ducks with Yashavi Jaiswal (13) and Rishabh Pant (20) the only players to cross into double figures.
