Pakistan Witnesses Third Supermoon of The Year

Pakistan is witnessing its third supermoon of the year, which began to rise at 4:26 pm, offering a stunning celestial display for those gazing at the evening sky.

This marks the third of four consecutive supermoons, with the current one being the brightest by a small margin. The phenomenon occurs when the moon’s orbit brings it nearer to Earth, causing it to shine about 14% brighter and appear 7% larger than a typical full moon.

Other regions, such as New Zealand, Japan, and Australia, will also have the opportunity to observe the supermoon. For those west of the international date line, the event took place late Wednesday night, while in regions like New Zealand, it will be visible early Friday morning.

The next supermoon is slated for November 15, keeping lunar enthusiasts eager for more. The moon will appear full for about three days, from Tuesday evening until Friday morning. Adding to the excitement, astronomers note that occasionally two full moons occur within a lunar month, with the second being referred to as a “blue moon.”
