KP Announces Life Insurance Scheme for All Citizens

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Finance Advisor, Muzammil Aslam, announced the launch of the “Life Insurance for All” initiative by the provincial government.

Under this scheme, the K-P government will offer financial assistance to families in the event of the death of the household’s primary earner. The compensation will be up to Rs1 million for individuals under 60 years of age, and Rs0.5 million for those over 60.

In addition, the government plans to establish the country’s first provincial Islamic takaful insurance company, providing Islamic life insurance.

Muzammil Aslam also highlighted that Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa was the first province to introduce universal health coverage in Pakistan. Among other key projects, he mentioned the construction of a 365-kilometer controlled-entry road corridor from Peshawar to Dera. This route will pass through 12 districts and connect K-P to Balochistan and Punjab, to serve as an international trade route.
