Former Pakistani cricketer, Aqib Javed has parted ways with Lahore Qalandars after a successful eight-year stint with the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise.
The former Pakistan international will leave the team ahead of taking charge of national duties with the Pakistan Cricket team.
Aqib Javed has spent 8 years with Lahore Qalandars as Director of Cricket Operations and Head Coach, helping the team reach three consecutive PSL finals from 2020 to 2023. His side went on to win two consecutive PSL tournaments.
His main contribution to Lahore Qalandars also included the Player Development Program (PDP) which produced talents like Haris Rauf, Zaman Khan, Salman Irshad, Dilbar Hussain, Maaz Khan, and Mirza Tahir Baig.
Reflecting on his time with Lahore Qalandars, he said, “It’s been an unforgettable journey filled with memorable moments. Now, I’m excited to take on new challenges with the national team.”
