Young Pakistani bowler Ihsanullah has recently stirred up conversation by making a sensational claim about Naseem Shah and India’s Jasprit Bumrah.

In a recent interview on a YouTube channel, the 22-year-old called Naseem a better bowler in his eyes than Bumrah. Despite being given a chance to repeal his bold comments, Ihsanullah stuck to his guns claiming that every bowler goes through doldrums and highs every once in a while.

He also called into question the differences in surfaces available to both teams’ bowlers, maintaining that Indian pacers get more help from the surface than their Pakistani counterparts which plays a role in their success.

Bumrah is widely regarded as one of the best fast bowlers playing the game today. He spearheads the bowling attack which won the T20 World Cup in June, while pocketing the Player of The Tournament award. On top of all that, he boasts better statistics in all categories than Naseem in all three formats.

Ihsanullah’s statement reflects confidence in his teammate and highlights the potential of Pakistan’s young pace attack but it has opened him up to mockery on the internet.
