The Asus ROG Phone 9 series is confirmed to launch on November 19 for the global market. In the lead-up to the launch, several leaks have provided early insights into what this highly anticipated gaming phone will offer.
A hands-on video that has surfaced online shows the ROG Phone 9 with a more premium build, suggesting upgrades in materials and design. While the overall design language will be similar to the ROG Phone 8, there are likely to be subtle changes that improve the feel and durability of the device.
A report by K-Tai Watch Impress Japan states that the smartphone will run on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Early benchmarks from other devices using the Snapdragon 8 Elite indicate that the ROG Phone 9 will deliver a noticeable leap in performance thanks to this chipset. The new SoC is also expected to reduce power consumption by up to 30%.
The China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) website recently spotted the ROG Phone 9 Pro, confirming support for 65W fast charging, in line with the previous ROG Phone 8 series. There is speculation that Asus will also improve key gaming features such as the AirTrigger touch sensors and heat management systems to sustain longer gaming sessions.
