Kia Pakistan Launches Its First Electric Car EV5 [Images]

Kia Pakistan made headlines with the launch of its first electric vehicle, the EV5, at Pakistan Auto Show 2024. This electric SUV comes in two variants, AIR and EARTH, each offering unique specifications to meet varying demands and driving preferences.

Kia EV5 Specifications

  • Motors and Power: The air variant has a single motor making 214 hp and 310 Nm torque. The earth variant has dual motors (one front and one rear) with all-wheel-drive, producing 308 hp and 480 Nm torque.
  • Maximum Speed: Both variants reach a top speed of 185 kilometers per hour.
  • Battery Capacity: Air has a 64.2 kWh battery with a 490 km range. Earth has an 88.1 kWh battery with 620 km of range.
  • Charging Time: Air takes 9 hours and 43 minutes to charge from 10% – 100% on regular speeds (6.6 kW single phase charger) or 1 hour to charge from 10% – 80% when using a fast charger (50 kW). Earth takes 8 hours to charge from 10% – 100% at regular speed (11 kW three-phase charger) or 1 hour 12 minutes to charge 10% – 80% when using a fast charger (50 kW).
  • Superfast Charging: 350 KW charging allows both variants to charge fully in just 36 minutes.

Kia has positioned the EV5 as a premium electric vehicle, with pricing reflecting the advanced technology and features:

  • AIR: Priced at Rs. 18,500,000.
  • EARTH: Priced at Rs. 23,500,000.
