Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly mulling offering central contracts to three players who were previously left off the announced list.
According to reports, all three seasoned internationals will need to meet certain requirements to earn a guaranteed emolument from the cricketing board.
Usama Mir, Fakhar Zaman, and Imam-ul-Haq are still in contention for a central contract if they manage to pass their upcoming fitness tests.
Fakhar is already nursing a reported knee injury which could delay his assessment while Usama Mir already took one during Pakistan’s third test match against England. The trio were all on PCB’s books last year.
All three are also not part of the touring party for Australia which was indicated in their demotion from the central contracts list but caused plenty of uproar on social media.
Fakhar last represented Pakistan in June 20224 while Imam has not suited up for the Green Shirts since 2023. Usama Mir, meanwhile, last played for Pakistan in a T20I game against New Zealand in June this year. Despite their absence from the national team, all three have found plenty of suitors in franchise cricket across the world.
