Top Chinese University Names Research Center After Pakistani Scientist

Hunan University of Medicine in China has named its newly inaugurated research building in honor of esteemed Pakistani scientist, Professor Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Chaudhry.

The announcement was made during a special event at the university. This state-of-the-art facility spans 13,000 square feet and will accommodate 17 full-time researchers, dedicated to fostering scientific collaboration between Pakistan and China.

Naming the new research building after Prof. Chaudhry is a historic milestone, marking the first time a Pakistani scientist has received this honor at Hunan University of Medicine.

Professor Chaudhry’s significant contributions to scientific research, especially in establishing Sino-Pak research centers, have greatly advanced joint projects between Chinese and Pakistani scientists.

A distinguished member of the scientific community, Prof. Chaudhry has received numerous awards, including the Mustafa (PBUH) Prize, various Pakistani Civil Awards (Hilal-i-Imtiaz, Sitara-i-Imtiaz, and Tamgha-i-Imtiaz), the Friendship Award from China, and the Golden Silkball Friendship Award. He is also Vice President of the World Academy of Sciences for Central & South Asia and a fellow of several esteemed organizations, including the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World and the Royal Society of Chemistry in London.

The establishment of this facility represents a major step in strengthening scientific collaboration between China and Pakistan.
