Nintendo Switch 2 May Be Close to Launch

Nintendo’s iconic Switch console, launched over seven years ago, is due for a successor, with the gaming giant having officially committed to unveiling new hardware before March’s end.

However, fresh speculation suggests this launch might be earlier than anticipated – potentially within the next 48 hours.

Industry insiders, described as “reasonably credible,” point to Nintendo’s current product portfolio as lacking momentum ahead of a crucial November 5 investor conference. This timing, sources suggest, could present an optimal opportunity for the company to bolster investor confidence through a strategic hardware announcement.

However, it is worth mentioning that these claims are rather bold and remain unverified and should be approached with skepticism.

Either way, the Japanese gaming giant’s need for fresh market success is evident. Industry analysts note that even if an announcement materializes this week, consumers should expect a considerable gap between the initial reveal and the actual market availability of the Switch 2.

This report goes against previously leaked information which suggested that the current Switch console is planned to get several remastered titles in 2025 before the Switch 2’s launch. The source claimed that Nintendo approached several first-party and third-party publishers to create remastered games to keep the console’s title lineup fresh.

Among the approached third-party publishers are reportedly Ubisoft, Bandai Namco, Electronic Arts, and others. Ubisoft may be bringing remastered versions of Splinter Cell Blacklist, Rayman 3, and the first two Driver games to the platform.

Nintendo also has two in-house remasters planned for 2025 including one GameCube title and one Nintendo 3DS game.
