PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi Urges Rizwan to Focus on ‘Teamwork’

Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has offered sage advice to Muhammad Rizwan ahead of Pakistan’s tour of Australia.

Naqvi met with the newly announced captain and vice-captain of Pakistan’s cricket team ahead of their departure to Australia. The meeting underscored the PCB’s high expectations for the team’s new leadership as they prepare to take on the challenge.

“Leading the white-ball team is a great honour,” Naqvi stated. “The nation expects an outstanding performance from our players in the Australia and Zimbabwe series. Our team has the talent and professionalism to put on a spectacular display,” he emphasized.

The chairman’s words reflect the national sentiment following Pakistan’s recent Test series win against England, which has further raised the bar for Rizwan and his squad. Naqvi pointedly highlighted the importance of teamwork, urging the team to “play as one unit and fight till the last ball.” He added, “If you stand united, no one can defeat you.”

Both Rizwan and Agha expressed gratitude to Naqvi for the PCB’s support and vowed to give their best. “We are committed to meeting the nation’s expectations during the Australia and Zimbabwe tours,” Rizwan said.

Muhammad Rizwan’s first assignment will be a very significant test of his leadership abilities against a team Pakistan has not beaten in a bilateral series since March 2022.

The men in green are set for three ODIs and three T20Is against Australia, with the first ODI slated for November 4. All eyes will be on Pakistan’s dynamic new leadership duo as they aim to lead their side to victory.
