Muhammad Rizwan Reveals His Vision for Pakistan Team

Pakistan cricket team’s newly minted white-ball captain Muhammad Rizwan has offered fascinating insights into his vision for the national side under his leadership.

During a press conference before leaving for Australia, Rizwan put any fears regarding Babar Azam at rest by confirming that the two would continue to open the batting for Pakistan but may change the plans if the situation demands it.

(Translated) “It’s not like I am going to come in and things will explore. Before me, things were going really well and in my mind when I felt that there were some shortcomings, we are only going to fix that,” he said. “Look at what Aaqib bhai has done against England and we will try to recreate that going forward.”

Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan have quickly formed one of the most formidable opening duos in recent times, but this will be the first time that they will pair up with their roles reversed. Babar has never played under Rizwan’s captaincy, and the upcoming series against Australia will present a real challenge for the two.

Many had touted Rizwan as Babar’s natural replacement, citing his higher acumen for captaincy. The 32-year-old has outfoxed Babar many times during domestic tournaments, and PCB will be hoping he can replicate his magic in international games as well.
