PSL Director Steps Down

In a notable shift within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), as Pakistan Super League (PSL) Director Sohaib Sheikh and Head of Women’s Cricket Tania Mallick have officially stepped down from their roles to explore new career paths, the PCB announced today.

Shoaib Sheikh, who re-joined the PCB 13 months ago after a previous tenure from 2016 to 2019, played a key role in the launch and execution of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), overseeing its first four seasons and delivering his fifth successful tournament earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Tania Mallick, who joined the PCB in October 2021, worked tirelessly to advance women’s cricket in Pakistan. Her commitment extended to grassroots initiatives, expanding the country’s talent pool and earning recognition from the ICC, where she served as one of two Full Member representatives on the ICC Women’s Committee.

Their departures continue the reshuffling of the governing body which has faced countless revamps since the chairmanship of Mohsin Naqvi as he looks to streamline the cricketing structures in the country.

PCB Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer acknowledged their contributions:

Sohaib Sheikh and Tania Mallick were instrumental to the PCB’s growth and progress. Sohaib’s role in the HBL PSL’s development and Tania’s dedication to nurturing women’s cricket has left a lasting impact. We are grateful for their hard work and wish them every success in their future endeavors.

PCB is expected to announce their replacements soon.
