Bank Robber Posed as a Police Officer to Get Govt-Issued Weapon: Report

Islamabad has been facing a troubling surge in bank robberies, raising concerns over security in the capital. Over the past few weeks, multiple incidents have occurred, with robbers allegedly making off with substantial sums of money, leading to fears among citizens and businesses alike.

In light of these events, reports have emerged suggesting a shocking connection between these heists and government-issued weapons. According to Aaj News, citing sources, an individual posing as a Special Protection Unit (SPU) officer allegedly obtained a sub-machine gun and kevlar jacket from the Islamabad Police’s route headquarters.

The suspect reportedly introduced himself as “Dilawar,” wearing a uniform and providing a badge number associated with a legitimate SPU officer. With these details, he allegedly secured SMG number 2183 and the protective gear, initially intended for the security of the English cricket team.
