In a boost to South Asia’s defence collaborations, Pakistan has entered an agreement with Thailand for the supply of 100 First Win 4×4 armored vehicles to the Pakistan Army. The deal, formalized in Islamabad on September 18, 2024, involves Thai Defence Industry Co., Ltd. (TDI), a joint entity of Thailand’s Defence Technology Institute (DTI) and Chaiseri, a specialist in armored defence vehicles.
Under this deal, TDI will deliver the armored vehicles to Pakistan’s Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT), a major defence manufacturer. The partnership also includes a technology transfer, enabling HIT to eventually manufacture the First Win vehicles within Pakistan.
The initial batch of vehicles will be produced in Thailand, while subsequent units will be assembled by HIT. These vehicles, adaptable to different combat scenarios, are expected to add versatility to Pakistan’s defense operations.
This partnership marks an important step in advancing Pakistan’s local defense production capabilities, while strengthening the military cooperation between the two nations.
