Saudi Arabia Arrests 100+ Corrupt Government Officials

The Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) in Saudi Arabia has announced the arrest of 121 government officials in connection with various criminal and administrative corruption cases. This action, taken during October, involved investigations across five government bodies.

The agencies under scrutiny include the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Justice, National Guard, Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, and the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority.

Nazaha’s investigation primarily targeted instances of bribery and abuse of authority. As part of the process, 322 individuals were questioned, with some later released on bail.

Throughout October, Nazaha conducted roughly 1,903 oversight visits. The agency reaffirmed its dedication to identifying and holding accountable those who misuse public funds or exploit their positions for personal benefit, pledging strict enforcement of the law against all violators.
