Huawei Mate 70 series is officially launching this November, and it promises to be the most powerful lineup yet, according to a company executive.
The Mate 70 will debut Huawei’s latest HarmonyOS NEXT (built in-house and Android-free!) and also hints at exciting tech upgrades and design tweaks that are bound to make waves.
While Huawei hasn’t shared a specific release date, the Mate 70 series is expected to hit the market by mid-November. According to reports from Yicai Global, Huawei has already secured most components for the series, so mass production is likely already underway.
As the screenshot says, the Mate 70 should come with a more energy efficient SoC, a 50MP main camera based on an in-house sensor and variable aperture, and more.
Design-wise, Huawei Mate 70 is keeping the familiar camera island but might add a few laser sensors for extra precision, hinted by recent leaked images. In the battery department, Huawei could be stepping things up with a high-density silicon-anode battery paired with an efficient new chipset. This combination would offer a sleek, lightweight feel without compromising battery life.
Expect four models in the lineup: the Huawei Mate 70, Mate 70 Pro, Mate 70 Pro+, and the ultra-premium Mate 70 Ultimate Design. Rumors suggest that Huawei is replacing optical fingerprint sensors with advanced ultrasonic ones, delivering faster and more reliable unlocking even when fingers are wet. This change would put the Mate 70 on par with other flagship heavyweights like the OnePlus 13 and Xiaomi 15, who’ve already embraced this tech.
While there’s plenty of buzz around these features, details remain unconfirmed. Still, if the rumors hold true, the Mate 70 series could be one of the most innovative smartphones of the year.
