Gaddafi Stadium’s transformation for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has reached a major milestone, with new LED floodlights soon to illuminate all six towers. Renovation crews have already removed outdated lights from three towers, with work underway on the remaining three.
The upgrade of the floodlights will reportedly enhance visibility and bring the venue up to global standards as per the instructions of PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.
According to available information, the LED floodlights are more energy efficient, have a longer lifespan and are more durable while contributing to improved visibility for the players who will take the field in Gaddafi Stadium.
In addition to new lighting, fans can look forward to two cutting-edge screens which will elevate the matchday experience during the eight-team tournament.
The stadium’s overall upgrades are nearly 50% complete with PCB’s Chairman keeping a watchful eye.
Naqvi has also announced plans for a cricket museum and a souvenir shop at the venue, aiming to enrich the fan experience. During a meeting at the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) camp office, he reviewed blueprints and emphasized expanding the parking area and improving the stadium’s exterior. The PCB chief urged for the project’s timely completion, promising world-class facilities for fans and players alike.
“The stadium is now set to become world-class,” Naqvi remarked, highlighting the improvements as a leap forward in Pakistan’s sports infrastructure.
