Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed satisfaction with the ongoing renovation work at Gaddafi Stadium, confident that the venue would be ready in time for next year’s ICC Champions Trophy.
During his visit, Naqvi directed officials to prioritize spacious parking facilities and enhance the stadium’s exterior appeal.
The chairman also inspected the fast-paced renovations in the stadium enclosures and main building, where flooring work is nearing completion. The project director provided Naqvi with a comprehensive update on the progress.
Later, Naqvi chaired a meeting at the FWO camp office, where the design and development plan for the stadium was reviewed.
Officials briefed Naqvi on the project’s progress, reporting that about 50% of the Gaddafi Stadium Upgradation Project has been completed. Work on the enclosures and main building floors continues at an accelerated pace, with the flooring stages of both the main and office buildings nearing completion.
Gaddafi Stadium and Karachi’s National Bank Cricket Arena are undergoing major facelift ahead of next year’s champions trophy. With the deadline of 31st December quickly approaching, PCB is confident of completing all the prerequisites before presenting a comprehensive proposal to the ICC.
The Champions Trophy is set to take place from February 19th to March 9th.
