Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi has made a huge leap in the latest ICC ODI bowlers rankings following his side’s first ODI against Australia in Melbourne.
While the left-arm seamer could not help his side notch a win, his performance with the ball was enough to see him jump three spots to sit 4th in the latest rankings. Shaheen is the highest-placed pacer in the rankings and trails only Keshav Maharaj, Rashid Khan and Kuldeep Yadav.
The 24-year-old returned from a brief absence against Australia in the first ODI and returned figures of 10-0-43-2 with the ball while also adding 24 valuable runs to Pakistan’s total. Despite his efforts, the Green Shirts fell to the hosts by 2 wickets.
That game’s man of the match Mitchell Starc has also climbed four places to 14th on the list while Josh Hazlewood, who will play the second ODI, remains Australia’s highest-ranked bowler at number 7.
