The International Cricket Council (ICC) is set to reveal the schedule for the highly anticipated Champions Trophy 2025 next week.
A key ICC delegation will visit Lahore from November 10 to 12 to evaluate the preparations for the prestigious 50-over tournament, which will be hosted by Pakistan.
According to sources the schedule for the 2025 Champions Trophy has already been shared with the participating teams to give them a heads up for the preparations. During the Lahore visit, the ICC delegation will also review the tournament’s logistics and preparations after which an official event on November 11 will be held to announce the schedule
As per the preliminary schedule, Pakistan has been placed in Group A alongside India, Bangladesh, and New Zealand. Meanwhile, Group B will consist of England, South Africa, Australia, and Afghanistan.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is still awaiting approval from the Indian government before confirming India’s participation in the tournament.
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to take place from February 19 to March 9, with matches set to be hosted in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi.
Lahore will host the final, along with seven other matches, while Karachi will open the tournament and host one semi-final. Rawalpindi will stage five matches, including the second semi-final. The semi-finals are set for March 5 and 6, with the final on March 9, and a reserve day on March 10.
Defending champions Pakistan will look to repeat their triumph from the 2017 Champions Trophy, where they defeated India by 180 runs in the final at The Oval.
