Governor Punjab Calls for Smog Emergency

Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan has called for an emergency declaration in the province due to the worsening smog situation.

The governor highlighted that air pollution is out of control in most districts, leading to numerous people falling ill and being admitted to hospitals. He noted that the previous measures, like shutting down schools, colleges, and amusement parks, have not been effective.

Traders are also resisting the early closure of markets at 8:00 PM. Pollution levels continue to rise in Lahore and other districts across Punjab, the governor added.
