Streetlight Wires Stolen From F-9 Park Islamabad

Thieves have stolen streetlight wires worth around Rs1 million from F-9 Park in Islamabad, leaving a large portion of the park without electricity and in darkness.

Police registered a case at Margalla police station under Section 379 of the Pakistan Penal Code after sub-engineer Inayat Ullah Khan filed a complaint.

According to the first information report, a security supervisor first noticed that several streetlights were not working. When he checked the area, he found that electricity wires had been cut and stolen.

He then informed the sub-engineer, who approached the police and requested legal action.

The FIR also said similar incidents had taken place before, with thieves repeatedly cutting and stealing electric wires from the park. The stolen material is believed to have been sold as scrap, causing repeated financial losses to the department.

The latest theft has once again disrupted lighting in one of Islamabad’s major public parks, raising concerns over security and maintenance.
