Pakistan Becomes Most Successful Asian Team in Australia

In a remarkable achievement, Pakistan’s cricket team has won an ODI series against Australia on Australian soil for the first time in over 20 years.

The Green Shirts made history, becoming the first Asian team to claim two bilateral ODI series victories against Australia in their own backyard, following up on their previous success in 2002.

This accomplishment places Pakistan alongside England and South Africa as only the third team to achieve this feat.

The 3-match series concluded with Pakistan emerging victorious 2-1, following decisive wins in Adelaide and Perth.

In the series-deciding match, Pakistan’s bowling attack proved unstoppable, restricting Australia to a modest total of 140.

Pace spearheads Naseem Shah and Shaheen Afridi each took three wickets, while Haris Rauf claimed two and Mohammad Hasnain added another to keep Australia’s batsmen in check.

Chasing the target, Pakistan’s opening pair of Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique set a solid foundation with a partnership of 84 runs before both were dismissed by Lance Morris in a single over.

However, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan took control, guiding Pakistan to victory with an 8-wicket win in classic fashion.

This ODI series victory follows Pakistan’s recent home Test series win against England, providing a crucial morale boost ahead of their upcoming T20I series against Australia.
