Two-time Pakistan Super League (PSL) champions, Lahore Qalandars have announced their foreign players for the upcoming Global Super League.
Qalandars have acquired the services of South African spinner, Tabraiz Shamsi and West Indian all-rounder, Carlos Brathwaite for the upcoming multi-franchise T20 tournament. The English contingent of Adam Rossington, Tom Abell and Luke Wells will also represent Lahore in the tournament.
According to details, Lahore will announce the local player list in the next few days as they aim to win the inaugural Global Super League. It is unlikely that the regular international stars such as Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Fakhar Zaman, Kamran Ghulam, Abdullah Shafique and plenty others take part in the tournament, as they prepare for a hectic international schedule in the upcoming months.
Earlier, Lahore Qalandars announced former English pacer, Darren Gough as their head coach for the tournament as he replaces their long-standing head coach, Aqib Javed, who is now part of Pakistan’s national selection committee.
The Global Super League is set to be played in Guyana from 26 November to 7 December with 5 teams from across the world, including Lahore, set to partake. Bangladesh’s Rangpur Riders, Australia’s Victoria, England’s Hampshire and Caribbean Premier League’s Guyana Amazon Warriors set to play the first edition of the tournament.
